Genius-Pro Science and Society (e-ISSN: 3103-1358) recognizes the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools, including generative AI systems, Large Language Models (LLMs), and other automated technologies applied to research, data analysis, and scientific communication.
The journal promotes the responsible, ethical, and transparent use of these tools in accordance with the principles of scientific integrity, editorial transparency, and academic responsibility advocated by the Committee on Publication Ethics, the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, and the World Association of Medical Editors.
The use of artificial intelligence tools does not replace human responsibility. Authors, reviewers, and editors retain full responsibility at all times for scientific content, evaluations conducted, and editorial decisions made throughout the publication process.
Authors may use artificial intelligence tools for legitimate purposes that support research and manuscript preparation, including:
Any use of artificial intelligence tools beyond basic language editing must be explicitly disclosed in the manuscript.
The disclosure should include, when applicable:
This information may be included in the Methodology section, Acknowledgments section, or in a dedicated Artificial Intelligence Statement.
Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scientific validity of all submitted content, regardless of whether it was generated, assisted, or modified using artificial intelligence tools.
The use of AI does not exempt authors from responsibility regarding:
Artificial intelligence tools do not meet the international criteria for scientific authorship established by the ICMJE.
Therefore:
Authorship is reserved exclusively for natural persons capable of assuming public responsibility for the published scientific content.
Authors must ensure that the use of artificial intelligence does not improperly alter the data, results, evidence, or conclusions of the research.
Likewise, AI tools may not be used to modify clinical, diagnostic, radiological, microscopic, forensic, or laboratory images when such modification could affect the scientific interpretation of the results.
All cited references must correspond to real, verifiable, and accessible documents.
When artificial intelligence forms part of the methodological design of a study, authors must provide sufficient information regarding:
The description must enable adequate understanding, critical evaluation, and reproducibility of the study by the scientific community.
Confidentiality is a fundamental principle of the peer-review process.
Reviewers must not upload complete manuscripts, unpublished data, review reports, or any other confidential information into external artificial intelligence platforms that may store, reuse, or process such content.
Reviewers may use AI tools only for limited linguistic or technical assistance related to texts of their own authorship, provided that the confidentiality of the editorial process is not compromised.
Reviewers remain fully responsible for:
Editors must preserve editorial independence, confidentiality, and scientific integrity throughout all stages of the editorial process.
Editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or sensitive information into external AI systems that may store or reuse such content.
Artificial intelligence tools may be used only as administrative or technical support and shall never replace human editorial judgment.
All editorial decisions must be based on:
Genius-Pro Science and Society may use automated tools to support activities related to:
The results generated by such tools shall serve exclusively as auxiliary support.
No editorial decision shall be made automatically or exclusively through artificial intelligence systems.
Failure to comply with this policy may result in editorial actions proportional to the severity of the situation, including:
Genius-Pro Science and Society promotes the responsible, transparent, and ethically grounded use of artificial intelligence as a tool to support research and scientific communication.
The journal reaffirms that responsibility for the production, evaluation, and dissemination of scientific knowledge always rests with the individuals involved in the editorial process, thereby preserving academic integrity, the reliability of the scientific record, and the trust of the international research community.
