Abstract

Objective: To analyze the association between technological training and technological-academic proficiency in 300 records from Social Communication students.Method: A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational study was conducted. The instrument comprised 12 five-point Likert items organized into two six-indicator blocks. Means, standard deviations, Cronbach’s alpha, and two-tailed Pearson correlation were calculated at α = .05.Results: Technological training reached M = 3.538 (SD = 0.715), while technological-academic proficiency reached M = 3.392 (SD = 0.717). Overall internal consistency was α = .877, and the correlation between constructs was positive and moderate (r = .524, p < .001).Conclusions: Greater technological training was associated with greater technological-academic proficiency. Training in Social Communication should integrate instrumental skills, information search and evaluation, multimedia production, security, ethics, and the critical use of emerging technologies.
